Local and Regional BAP coordinators, together with those interested in the work of biodiversity partnerships and the implementation of Habitat and Species Action Plans, are invited to attend the above event, hosted by Natural England, Defra and Plantlife International. The event is primarily aimed at English biodiversity coordinators, though colleagues in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales are also very welcome to attend.

Previous conferences were held in Rotherham, Liverpool and Exeter and this fourth event of the series will be in Cambridge at St John's College. As at previous events in the series, presentations will be illustrated by practical examples from across the country as well as featuring some of the great biodiversity work going on in and around Cambridge. As ever, there will be a great emphasis on networking and sharing of good practice through round-table discussion and workshop sessions, and we hope you will find the whole event thought-provoking and informative.

  • This year, the programme will open on the afternoon of Tuesday 15 July with an Exchange Fair giving LBAPs the opportunity to showcase their work, and meet with funding organisations and environment experts.
  • The event will formally open on the Tuesday evening with keynote speakers including Professor Jules Pretty OBE, followed by the Conference Dinner.
  • Other topics featured throughout the programme will include the ecosystem approach, habitats and species action plans and business and biodiversity.
  • The conference will conclude with a choice of visits to either Woodwalton Fen National Nature Reserve part of The Great Fen Project, or to Wicken Fen National Nature Reserve part of the National Trust's Wicken Vision Project.
